2nd i-Travel workshop held in Brussels


The ERTICO - ITS Europe-coordinated i-Travel project held its second i-Travel workshop on 16th June in Brussels, Belgium at the Hotel Bedford. The aim of the i-Travel project is to elaborate a platform for the exchange of information between content suppliers and service providers, allowing the “the connected traveller” to receive context-aware, mobile, on-trip event-based information and trip re-scheduling. As well as these technologies, organisational models and commercial tools are needed to support the integration of suppliers’ and buyers’ systems.
 
The workshop attracted companies from different sectors.

After the project introduction by Gary Bridgeman, Dr Rodolfo Baggio gave a keynote presentation on the formation and benefits of Networks.

The i-Travel finalised business processes and architecture needed for the project was presented by Konard Piotrowski from Oracle.

After Lunch the sugested orgainsation for the i-travel community was presented followed by a presentation of the i-Travel demonstrator, the workshop finished with a presentation of the recommnedations for the future of i-Travel.
