The i-Travel project will provide the technological, standardisation and commercial foundations to replace the free-for-all of proprietary, one-to-one exchanges amongst content and service providers with a secure “eMarketplace” based on open standards.  An eMarketplace, or electronic marketplace, is defined as “…a community of buyers and suppliers…that integrates the procurement systems of buyers with the fulfilment systems of suppliers, creating a single standard process for transacting business”.*
